GEBHL IS BACK FOR 2010!
GEBHL is getting ready for our Men's & Women's Divisions for 2010!

After three successful years of Adult's Ball Hockey in Ridge Meadows, the Golden Ears Ball Hockey League will be back for its 4th season in 2010. This upcoming season we are looking at starting the league late May so we can spread out the game schedule. We will be attending the Parks & Rec Dry Floor meeting in January and shortly after will determine the schedule. Are you looking for a recreational sport you can enjoy while meeting new people? Ball hockey is an intense fast paced game that you will enjoy as a physical activity. GEBHL uses certified ball hockey referees in a safe arena environment. If you as an individual is looking for a ball hockey experience this summer or you have a few players that can make up a team, GEBHL is the place for you! We offer both Men's and Women's Divisions that run from early June to late July. For information on either division, click on the side bar menu for your division. Other organized ball hockey associations are anywhere from $3000 to $4000 per team to join, we make it affordable but still giving you all the safety and organized individuals you would get at those leagues. We certify our referees through CBHA (Canadian Ball Hockey Association), supply game sheets, timekeepers, game balls and team/player stats on our website through the season. Playoffs at the end of the season includes a championship final with a Cup presentation to the winning team! If you are interested in joining, we will take information for the 2010 season that begins in early June.

GEBHL congratulates the 2009 Champions!
Monarchs take back the Championship Cup in Women's while 'new comer'
men's team Gamblers beat three time finalist Bulldogs for the Men's Championship Cup
As the women's division wound down for the year two teams that are very familiar with each other found themselves up against each other for the third time in a row in as many years for the Women's Championship Cup. 2007 saw the Monarchs beat the Rebels while the following year saw the Rebels take it away in a championship game shootout. This year it was Monarchs that came out on top with a 3-1 win. In Men's Division, the season winning Bulldogs that went 11-1 came up against the 6and6 Gamblers. The Gamblers were playing stronger going into the playoff rounds and as the final game was even right through, it came to a defensive mishap bya Bulldog defensemen that put Gamblers ahead late in the final period 3-2 and then capping it with a fourth goal with less then a minute left to give them their first GEBHL Men's Championship. Congratulations to Bulldogs for making it to the finals 3 years in a row.

Background to Golden Ears Ball Hockey League!
This is a game for all levels of player's for both men and women

Over the last few years, ball hockey has taken off and all association's from minor to adult levels have seen steady growth. It is a sport that can be easily played by all on almost any surface you can find. Many ball hockey players play the game as a fun activity amongst friends and co-workers, for others it can be more competitive if you are in a registered league. GEBHL is geared at finding a balance in the middle. With an exclusive ball hockey arena now available in Maple Ridge through the Spring/Summer months, GEBHL is getting ready for its third season this June. GEBHL is for players looking for a facility that can host full size arena ball hockey games, but with the "C" Division style player in mind. Individuals and teams that rent gym's, lacrosse boxes or rec centre facilities now can have a place to play ball hockey with refs, scoreclocks and timekeepers in a safe atmosphere. The founders of this league have been either playing, coaching, or managing ball hockey for the past 20 years, and know what it it takes to run an organized league. Whether you have enough buddies to form a team or if you are interested on your own to play, GEBHL is for you!

If you are tired of playing on the other side of the water, bring your team to Maple RIdge!
